1952: Built the Niem Phat Duong Dong Thanh

1957: Change name into Khuon Hoi Van Hanh

1964: Change into Van Hanh Pagoda – Built the main house.

1980: Dai Duc Thich Vien Thanh was appointed head of Van Hanh Pagoda

1983: Built the front house

1991: Built the scene of the appearance of Quan The Am’s sacred dragon

1992: Change into Van Hanh monastery

1994: The celebration of putting the corner stone for Van Hanh monastery

2002: The placement of the corner stone for the Buddha statue. The statue is molded from cement and concrete with steel core, standing 24m tall and over 60 tons. Below the lotus base is a fire, inside has pictures of monks neutering. This construction was designed by the Venerable Thich Vien Thanh and the artist Thuy Lam with the cost of 1 billion and 300 million VND.

The most interesting thing of the place is the statue of Buddha outside. The corner stone placement celebration for this happened on 14/4/2002. The construction is directed and designed by Thich Vien Thanh monk with the help of Thuy Lam sculptor. It is 24m tall, 20m wide. The right hand holds a lotus. According to legend: once in the celebration of Linh Thuu, when the Holy The Ton held a lotus up, everyone fells into silence and only Ca Diep smile. The Holy The Ton said “I have the holy Dieu Tam eye of Nirvana, Thuc Tuong of Vo Tuong. This magic is superior and I gave it to Ca Diep”

 

The lotus from Linh Thuu mountain from 2000 years ago, now again is created lively here in Dalat in the monastery. This is not only a holy place for monks and Buddhists but also for guests from many places to come and behold, worship and is considered as a unique cultural construction representing special characteristics of Buddhism architecture.
