30-03-2017
Coming to Dalat - the dream city, you can still challenge yourself with challenging journeys. One of the most interesting challenges is to conquer the 1,600 m high Pinhatt Peak.
Mount Pinhatt at an altitude of 1600m in Elephant Mountain is one of the most interesting challenges that are explored by enthusiasts. Those who like discovering Dalat on their own can easily challenge their limits with slippery sloping roads, the old jungle.
Pinhatt Da Lat
Located in the south of Dalat, Pinhatt Da Lat Peak is the highest peak in the Elephant Mountains of Tuyen Lam Lake, Da Lat city. Unlike Lang Biang with many tourist services, Pinhatt is still wild and more difficult to conquer. If you get up early and watch the sunrise from the top of the mountain, it will be a memorable experience in Dalat.

Road to Pinhatt Mountain
To reach Pinhatt Mountain, from the center of Dalat City, you will pass Prenn Pass for about 12 km to Dalat Edensee Lake Resort & Spa. The line is so beautiful that you can not imagine: two sides of the resort, breeding sites, lake spillway and countless kinds of flowers blooming along the road. After you move to Dalat Edensee Lake Resort & Spa, take another 500m to meet Da Tien Restaurant, opposite is a gravel road leading to the foot of the mountain. You enter the restaurant and turn back to the entrance to start the journey.
The journey to conquer the summit of Pinhatt
The first obstacle is the Barrier filled with barbed wire. After crossing the Barrier, you just need to follow the gravel path to reach the top of the mountain. Along the way, you will be delighted to watch colorful wild orchids hanging on ancient trees’ trunk, and meet some small streams flowing across the road. From the foot of the mountain up to approximately 2 km, you will be surprised to find a clear lake in the middle of the mountain. While sitting on a large stone in the middle of the lake and scooping a gulp of water from your hand, you will clearly feel the purity that the nature brings to you. If you go a little further, you can observe the thousand-year-old red pines, which 3 people can not embrace entirely their trunks.
Going beside the trail about 500 meters further, you will encounter a steep cliff as if it leads straight up to the sky, and above the cliff is the summit of Pinhatt Da Lat with the height of 1.691 m. The closer you climb to the top, the lesser the pines are. Over there is another kind of vegetation, most of which are ferns.
After successfully conquering the summit of Pinhatt, you can visit the revolutionary base of Voi Mountain placed a few hundred meters away on the east coast. This was an important revolutionary base in anti-American and anti-French revolution of Lam Dong’s army and people. Today, the shelters, trenches, personal fortifications... have been restored and reconstructed to welcome visitors. If you arrive here on clear days, you can see Langbiang’s Peak, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Tuyen Lam Lake, Prenn Waterfall Suspension Cable and the completely landscape of Da Lat City.
After a day of conquering the heights, exploring the history and culture of the indigenous peoples, you will enjoy the rustic barbecue and the flickering fire, wallow in the heady bouquet of rượu cần – a kind of wine drunk out of a jar through pipes, get into the melody and exciting sound of the boys and girls of K'ho ethnic people to feel the pleasure in the dance and gong rhythms of Tay Nguyen people.
Tourists will also spend their night in deep underground rooms in the purple villa of the Voi Mountain’s picnic area or they can set up the tents to sleep in the heart of the majestic Voi Mountain.
Note:
When you meet the three-way junction in the halfway of the mountain, please turn left; if you turn right, you will reach the back of Voi Mountain, which is not the highest peak of Pinhatt Da Lat.
