Cau Dat tea hill Dalat

From Da Lat center, ride 25km towards Linh Phuoc pagoda, you can follow Tran Hung Dao street, Hung Vuong, Tu Phuoc and then turn right onto QL 20 to Trai Mat. On the road, you can immerse yourself into the refreshing air and wonderful view of the white farm houses lining up like steps on rice field in the North West of Vietnam. This is the largest vegetable farming area of Da Lat.

 

During this time, on the way, tourists can luckily see the cherry blossoms street. Riding through these winding hill side roads, taking in the view of the coffee valley and small houses side by side each other are parts of Da Lat’s outskirt.

 

Cau Dat tea hill hides in the mist and after a long ride, the greenness and vastness of the hill will appear in front of your eyes. Welcome to Cau Dat, the oldest and most famous place for tea in Da Lat.

The tea hill is belonged to Cau Dat Tea Department, established in 1927, located at 1650m above sea level with cool weather all year round. The area is 230 hecta of high quality tea, providing domestic market and exporting about 300-400 tons/year. High quality Oolong tea, green tea, black tea and black tea OTD are the most exported of  Cau Dat brand.

It’s not only valuable in economic terms but with the wonderful view and fresh air, recent years have witnessed this place becoming a famous tourist attraction. With only 40 minutes by car of motorcycle, tourists can immerse themselves in the vast blue sky. Especially if you enjoy photography, this place is a wonderful place for that. I came here on a warm spring day, when cherry blossoms blooming every corner, tea sprouts shinning in sunlight.

The fresh air blending with the aroma from early morning tea here at Cau Dat feels so pure and elegant. A small bag of tea is a perfect gift for your mother, which will always remind me of this beautiful place.
