XQ Gallery of Dalat

Here, tourists get to emerge themselves in artistic atmosphere of art stitching and behold delicate and unique hand-stitched pictures. From there, tourists can experience art exhibition and get to know about the tradition of art stitching.

The unique art space serving as a purpose of representation and exhibition of national cultural tradition was built by XQ Company near Love Valley. Here, the surrounding is designed to represent the pureness of nature and the essence of cultural tradition with stones, trees and old-like houses. Tourists-reserved space is divided into many sections named by themes: traditional sections, identity section, soul-mate section, heaven and earth collide section…

XQ Gallery’s sections:

- “Flavor of time” exhibition room: where you can feel the value of time comes and goes, time stays in every XQ art.

- Dalat fashion center: celebrate the elegant beauty of women through hand-sewed outfit.

- Grey hair street: introducing way of enjoying tea from a XQ artist, hosting performing art show “Night of love for a sewing artist” on weekends and annual show “Spring of generations”

- Food street: introducing traditional dishes from 3 parts of the country, made by talented XQ artists. The space is designed very impressive, creates many familiar surprises, blends with many natural features and fresh air of Dalat.

- Artist coffee: Here, you can become a poet, an artist or a singer, enjoying performance show on weekends.

The interior of some areas is humane artworks, directing viewers towards pureness of the East with great details as a combination of modern drawing art and the essence of Vietnam tradition of sewing.

The artist Hoang Thi Xuan comes from a Hue family and she inherited many delicate elegance of the ancient Hue imperial sewing art. Together with her husband, Mr. Vo Van Quan – a X-ray doctor, she paved the way for the art, mixing the essences of the art with the artistic characters of drawing to create new colors for Vietnam hand-stitched pictures.

From 1990 to 1992, they started to create artworks with the theme “About a hometown, about a person’s life”. At the end of 1992, they went to Dalat to open a vocational class for artists, bringing the art to many people. Early 1994, they founded the first XQ art complex in Dalat with 20 artists. On January 30 1996, they founded XQ  Dalat Company. After 10 years of operation, they got many great results.

XQ arts appear all over the country from Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Sai Gon, Da Lat… creating over 2000 jobs for people from all education backgrounds. XQ is loved by many from government officials to artists and foreign tourists and is highly appreciated for its cultural values and artistic characters. Mr. Quan is one of the first three people awarded with “The Guide Award” to celebrate contributions to Vietnam tourism culture.
